National Computing Centre launches new consultancy service

Media release

The recession has changed the expectations organisations have about their IT investments, with decision makers seeking greater value from IT and looking to exploit new technology without incurring undue risk.

To help its membership achieve these aims, the National Computing Centre (NCC) has launched a new 'Consultant Associate' programme which gives members access to recommended, trusted and accredited consultants across a range of service areas.

The National Computing Centre will only recommend consultants who have passed its qualifying criteria and provide suitable references, demonstrating that they have the qualities that the National Computing Centre is seeking.

The National Computing Centre has launched the scheme with its first two accredited appointees:

  • John Eary, director of JEC Professional Services Ltd. John is a senior management consultant with over 25 years' consultancy experience in a range of sectors in the UK and internationally. He has a track record in advising organisations on new ways of working and exploiting IT effectively.
  • Stuart Burgess, director of Agile IT Ltd. Stuart is co-founder of Agile IT, a consultancy with over 30 years’ experience that now focuses on delivering IT services to help businesses evaluate and implement cloud-based solutions. Agile IT is not tied to any one vendor and over the years has built a broad portfolio of products and cloud services.

More consultants will join the scheme as they pass the National Computing Centre’s approvals process. Non-National Computing Centre members can also take advantage of the service by paying a one-time registration fee.

National Computing Centre director Keith Vooght commented: “We aim to provide a platform where consultants can showcase their skills, and win new business. We also plan to extend this platform by introducing an area where IT management can place their consultancy requirements, providing a full-service solution.”
