TeleWare telephony Outlook integration

TelewareTeleWare will announce this month the integration into Microsoft Outlook of its industry-leading telephony services – including its advanced intelligent numbering application which allows a personal number to be pulled to whatever location or device the owner is using.

Microsoft Outlook is acknowledged as the world’s most widely distributed email client, although its focus has been primarily on the integration of data applications. However, voice is still the primary and most important form of business communications. The increasing volume of numbers at which a person, department or organisation can be contacted also makes it increasingly difficult for businesses to offer high levels of customer service and responsiveness.

“Outlook integration is yet another example of a practical and business-focused use of convergence in everyday applications,” said Geoff Haworth, Chairman and Founder of TeleWare plc. “We are very proud to be the first company to provide this level of integration.”

Integration into Microsoft Outlook means that calls are automatically routed to wherever the person is working by registering availability to receive calls using Outlook’s ‘Calendar Events’, as an alternative to using a telephone or TeleWare’s Web Assistant. TeleWare’s features such as call audit and user profile can also be set and controlled from within Outlook. Telephony registration and telephony presence status can be managed using the toolbar.
