Citrix named Microsoft partner of the year

Microsoft has selected Citrix as its first ever Global Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner of the Year. The award was presented on October 9 at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans.

“This award recognises the outstanding achievements that Citrix has accomplished as a Global ISV Partner of Microsoft and the positive feedback received from our worldwide field and product teams,” said Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice president, Platform Strategy and Partner Group, for Microsoft.

“Citrix is pleased and honoured to receive this award,” said Lewis Gee, managing director UK, Ireland and South Africa for Citrix. “This recognition reflects the strong relationship between our two companies and acknowledges our proven track record for developing robust and reliable access infrastructure software that utilises the latest Microsoft technologies.”

Citrix is a global leader in the access infrastructure market that Boston Consulting Group predicts will be worth up to $10 billion annually within the next five years.

Citrix and Microsoft have worked together for more than 14 years to extend the capabilities of Microsoft’s server operating platforms. The two companies co-developed the technology on which Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server is based and Citrix is one of the few partners that are Global Gold Certified.

Microsoft’s global ISV partners also include Computer Associates, PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel and Symantec.

A panel of Microsoft judges based the award on criteria including product integration and alignment, field and sales engagement, corporate relationship development, and engagement with Microsoft on a global basis.
