NCC Members Question: Managing Apple Macintosh estates

NCC Members can ask relevant questions to the wider NCC membership, moderated by NCC. We collate the responses, where appropriate anonymise them, then publish the results on the website for the benefit of the wider Membership. Can you help?

“We are a medium sized manufacturing company which has almost 20 sites spread across the UK with approximately 1800 staff. We have approximately 500 PCs which are catalogued, managed and supported. We have identified a growing need to provide a similar service for our Apple Macintosh estate and would like to canvas how this has been achieved in other companies. Not all of the sites have these machines but the main sites do, these are equally spread across the UK.

Our first step is to do a thorough inventory the second being to find a service provider that has the expertise and national coverage. Any guidance, help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
