NCC Think Tank: The Future of Software Services Delivery delivers first outputs
On 17th November a number of members of the NCC Members Advisory Board (MAB) and invited suppliers met to spend a few hours exploring and exchanging views upon the future of software services delivery.
The meeting was called in reaction to NCC members’ queries about virtualisation, Xaas and cloud services offerings being aggressively promoted in the marketplace. The scope ofthe discussion is illustrated below:
A summary presentation of the discussion - touching upon views of future directions, impacts for management practices and job roles in the IT Dept., green perspectives and more - was presented at the MAB meeting on 10 December.
The next task is to work this material up into a publication for NCC members in the New Year.
One outcome, a call for further drilling into the likely new jobs, skills and specialisms in the IT Dept. (if there is to be such of that name?) is already slated for another Think Tank session in February 2010.
